In Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin, what is Tintin's dog's name?

The story behind the answer

In Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin, Tintin’s dog is named Snowy.

Snowy is Tintin’s loyal white Wire Fox Terrier and one of the defining characters in Hergé’s comic series. In the original French editions, the dog is called Milou; “Snowy” is the established English-language name used in the books and in Spielberg’s 2011 motion-capture film.

Snowy is more than a mascot. He tracks clues, rescues Tintin, notices danger, and often provides comic relief. In the early adventures, his thoughts appear in speech balloons, giving him a much more prominent voice than he has in many later stories. Captain Haddock’s arrival gradually took over much of Snowy’s sarcastic commentary.

A common mix-up is confusing Snowy with other famous fictional dogs such as Toto, Snoopy, or Pongo. Snowy made his debut with Tintin in 1929’s Tintin in the Land of the Soviets and remains the only character, alongside Tintin, to appear in every comic album.
