In Robert E. Howard’s story “The Frost-Giant’s Daughter,” the warrior who pursues Atali is Conan.
The story is set in Howard’s fictional prehistoric Hyborian Age. After a battle in the frozen north, Conan sees the supernatural Atali and follows her across the snow. The encounter blends sword-and-sorcery adventure with imagery drawn from Norse and broader Germanic myth, especially frost giants and an enchanted northern landscape.
Howard originally wrote the story in the 1930s, and it was published posthumously in 1953 in the collection The Coming of Conan. In the narrative, Conan is a Cimmerian warrior rather than a figure from historical Norse mythology.
Kull is another major Howard character, but he belongs to a different fictional age and series. Crom is a deity in Conan’s world, not the pursuing warrior, while Bran Mak Morn is a separate protagonist.
