In Rhythm Heaven Megamix, players help Tibby return to Heaven World. Tibby is the game’s central story character and begins the adventure away from his home.
Megamix differs from earlier Rhythm Heaven titles by placing its rhythm challenges inside a light story campaign. Players progress through sets of minigames and remixes while helping Tibby travel upward toward Heaven World. The narrative gives the compilation a sense of progression rather than presenting every game as a completely separate challenge.
Tibby is easy to confuse with other recurring characters, including Marshal and Karate Joe, who appear in individual rhythm games. The Barista is also associated with Megamix’s café and shop area, but is not the character whom the story follows on the journey home.
Released for Nintendo 3DS, Megamix combines games from Rhythm Tengoku, Rhythm Heaven, and Rhythm Heaven Fever with new minigames. Its story mode, shop, challenge content, and collectible rewards make it more expansive than a simple greatest-hits collection.
