In Pixar’s Cars, what is the name of the rookie race car who gets stranded in Radiator Springs?
Answer
Lightning McQueen
Answer
Lightning McQueen
Lightning McQueen is the rookie race car stranded in Radiator Springs in Pixar’s Cars.
At the beginning of the 2006 film, McQueen is a talented but self-centered rookie competing for the Piston Cup. After falling out of his transport truck, Mack, he accidentally damages Radiator Springs’ main road and is ordered to repair it before leaving.
His time in the town changes his priorities. He builds friendships with Mater, Sally Carrera, and Doc Hudson, and learns that winning is not the only measure of success. His racing number is 95, a reference to 1995, the year Pixar released Toy Story.
Lightning McQueen is voiced by Owen Wilson. He is an original character rather than a direct depiction of one real production car, although his design draws on several types of American stock car and sports-car styling.
