In Pixar’s Cars, what is the name of Luigi’s small yellow assistant?

The story behind the answer

In Pixar’s Cars, Luigi’s small yellow assistant is named Guido.

Guido works at Luigi’s Casa Della Tires in Radiator Springs and helps service the shop. He is an Italian forklift whose enthusiasm centers on racing, tire changes, and Ferrari. Although he speaks very little English in the first film, his actions communicate his skill and excitement clearly.

Guido’s most memorable early moment comes during the Piston Cup finale. He performs an exceptionally fast tire change, helping Lightning McQueen gain an advantage. The sequence establishes that Guido’s small size does not reflect a lack of technical ability.

Guido is often confused with Luigi, who is the taller yellow Fiat 500 and the owner of the tire shop. He is also distinct from Mack, Lightning’s large transporter, and Sarge, Radiator Springs’ green military surplus vehicle. Guido and Luigi return in the later Cars films and remain closely associated with Ferrari fandom.
