In Pixar's Cars 3, what is the name of Lightning McQueen's next-generation rival?

Jackson Storm is Lightning McQueen's next-generation rival in Pixar's Cars 3.

Storm is a sleek, technologically advanced racer who dominates the early races of the film's story. His arrival represents a generational shift in the Piston Cup, as newer cars use modern data, simulation, and training methods to outperform older champions.

Lightning initially tries to compete through traditional experience but struggles to match Storm's speed. After a crash, Lightning's team explores new training approaches, and Cruz Ramirez eventually becomes central to the film's resolution.

Armie Hammer voices Jackson Storm in the English-language version. Storm is not the same character as Chick Hicks, Lightning's principal rival in the first Cars, or Francesco Bernoulli, the Formula-style racer featured in Cars 2. His dark blue design and black-and-yellow racing details distinguish him from those earlier opponents.
