Julio Valdez demands $70,000 from John B in Outer Banks season 5.
The demand comes after John B discovers a bundle of marijuana while crabbing and enlists Rafe to help sell it to Barry. Valdez, identified in the season’s story as the drug trafficker connected to the bundle, gives John B three days to produce either the drugs or the money.
The threat adds another financial crisis to the Pogues’ situation. After returning to the Outer Banks, they have lost their home and much of their money, while Poguelandia has been demolished and their property funds are unavailable. John B and Sarah are forced to squat in an empty house.
The amount can be confused with other figures in the series, including the $50,000 Wes Genrette once offered the Pogues in season 4 and the estimated value attached to other treasure-related deals. Valdez’s specific demand is $70,000.
