In Norse mythology, Freyr owns the ship Skíðblaðnir. The ship is one of the remarkable treasures made by the dwarfs Brokkr and Eitri, also called Sindri in some traditions.
Skíðblaðnir is described as having room for all the gods and enough wind to sail wherever Freyr wishes. When it is not being used, it can be folded up and carried, a magical feature that distinguishes it from ordinary mythic ships.
The ship appears in Snorri Sturluson’s Prose Edda in the account of the treasures made after Loki’s mischief. The same episode introduces several famous objects, including Odin’s spear Gungnir and Thor’s hammer Mjölnir.
Freyr’s ownership is sometimes confused with the ship Naglfar, which is associated with the dead and Ragnarök. Skíðblaðnir is a divine treasure and a symbol of magical craftsmanship; Naglfar is an ominous ship connected with the enemies of the gods.
