In Norse mythology, Eldhrímnir is the cauldron used to cook the boar Sæhrímnir.
The detail comes from the Grímnismál, where Odin describes the arrangements of his hall while disguised as the wanderer Grimnir. The cook Andhrímnir prepares Sæhrímnir in Eldhrímnir, and the restored boar provides an apparently inexhaustible source of meat for the einherjar.
The similar names create an easy mix-up. Andhrímnir is the cook, Eldhrímnir is the cauldron, and Sæhrímnir is the boar. None of these should be confused with Gullinkambi, the rooster associated with Valhalla and Ragnarök, or Hliðskjálf, Odin’s high seat from which he surveys the worlds. The trio illustrates how detailed the food imagery of Valhalla can be.
