In New Zealand, what colour is the centre of a standard Give Way road sign?

The story behind the answer

In New Zealand, the centre of a standard Give Way road sign is white.

The sign is an inverted triangle with a red border and a white interior, usually carrying the words “GIVE WAY.” It instructs approaching road users to slow down and yield to traffic on the intersecting road or to other road users who have priority.

New Zealand’s Give Way sign resembles yield signs used in many countries, but its wording and design reflect the country’s own road-sign standards. It should not be confused with a Stop sign: a Give Way sign does not automatically require a complete stop when the way is clear and yielding can be done safely.
