In later Greek myth traditions, who was Pandora’s daughter?

The story behind the answer

In later Greek myth traditions, Pandora’s daughter was Pyrrha.

Pyrrha is described in later genealogical traditions as the daughter of Pandora and Epimetheus. She is best known as the wife of Deucalion, the survivor of a great flood in Greek mythology. Their story resembles the flood narrative associated with Noah, although the Greek account has its own characters and explanation.

After the flood, Deucalion and Pyrrha were told to throw the “bones of their mother” behind them. They understood this as stones from Mother Earth, and the stones became new people. Pyrrha therefore belongs to the wider mythological family surrounding Pandora, but she is not part of the earliest surviving account in Hesiod’s Works and Days. That distinction matters because details about Pandora’s family vary between ancient and later sources.
