In House M.D., who played Dr. Eric Foreman, the neurologist on House’s original team?

The story behind the answer

Omar Epps played Dr. Eric Foreman, the neurologist on House’s original team.

Foreman is one of the three physicians initially selected to work under House, alongside Allison Cameron and Robert Chase. His specialty is neurology, and his medical knowledge is especially useful when patients show seizures, paralysis, altered consciousness, or other nervous-system symptoms.

Foreman often challenges House more directly than Cameron or Chase. He is ambitious, skeptical, and concerned about maintaining professional standards, although his experiences with House gradually make him more comfortable with unconventional reasoning. His character also receives some of the show’s major leadership responsibilities.

Omar Epps had already worked in film and television before joining House M.D. He remained with the series through its full run and eventually became a senior figure at Princeton-Plainsboro. Foreman’s career path moves from junior team member to department leader and hospital administrator.
