In House M.D., which hospital employs Gregory House for most of the series?

The story behind the answer

In House M.D., Gregory House works for most of the series at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.

Princeton-Plainsboro is the fictional teaching hospital in New Jersey where House leads the Department of Diagnostic Medicine. The hospital provides the setting for the series’ unusual cases, staff conflicts, consultations, and many of House’s investigations.

The name combines the names of two real New Jersey communities, Princeton and Plainsboro. Although the hospital is fictional, the series used real locations and studio sets to represent it. The exterior of the Princeton University Frist Campus Center was used for establishing shots of the hospital.

Viewers sometimes shorten the name to “Princeton-Plainsboro” or simply “the hospital.” It is not the same institution as Princeton University, despite the shared name and the show’s academic medical setting. The hospital’s leadership changes during the series, including Lisa Cuddy’s tenure as dean of medicine and hospital administrator.
