In House M.D., which character is a neurologist and former member of House’s original diagnostic team?

The story behind the answer

Eric Foreman is the neurologist and former member of House’s original diagnostic team in House M.D.

Foreman is played by Omar Epps and is introduced as one of the three doctors selected to work with House in the series’ original diagnostic team. His specialty is neurology, and he often provides a more conventional professional counterweight to House’s risky reasoning and confrontational style.

Foreman’s role expands significantly over the series. He becomes involved in hospital administration and eventually serves as the Dean of Medicine at Princeton-Plainsboro. His career therefore develops from junior team member to senior authority within the institution.

The other original team members were Robert Chase, a physician associated with intensive care and surgery, and Allison Cameron, an immunologist. James Wilson was House’s close friend and an oncologist, but he was not a member of the original diagnostic team.
