Hugh Laurie portrays Dr. Gregory House in House M.D.

Laurie is an English actor, musician, and comedian who became internationally recognized for playing the acerbic American physician. His performance earned him multiple major award nominations and made House one of the defining medical-drama characters of the 2000s.

Laurie had already built a substantial comedy career in Britain before House M.D., particularly through collaborations with Stephen Fry.
