Jesse Spencer played Dr. Robert Chase, the Australian member of House’s original diagnostic team, in House M.D.
Chase is introduced as an intensive-care physician who joins House’s team at Princeton-Plainsboro. His Australian background is part of the character’s established identity, and the series later develops his relationships, professional confidence, and evolving ethical judgment.
Spencer is an Australian actor and musician. After House M.D., he became widely known for playing Matthew Casey in Chicago Fire. Within House, Chase is sometimes confused with Foreman or Cameron because all three belong to the original team, but their actors and specialties differ: Spencer played Chase, Omar Epps played neurologist Eric Foreman, and Jennifer Morrison played immunologist Allison Cameron.
