In House M.D., what was Gregory House's address, echoing Sherlock Holmes?

Gregory House's address in House M.D. is 221B Baker Street.

The address is a deliberate reference to Sherlock Holmes's fictional London home. House and Holmes share several traits: both are exceptionally observant investigators, both use logic to solve difficult cases, and both can be dismissive of ordinary social conventions. James Wilson also parallels Holmes's friend and chronicler, Dr. John Watson.

In House M.D., the address is associated with House's apartment in Princeton, New Jersey, rather than with the original London setting. The show uses the reference as an intertextual clue, rewarding viewers who recognize the detective-story model beneath the medical plots.

The canonical address is 221B Baker Street, not 221A Baker Street. 10 Downing Street is the British prime minister's official residence and belongs to a completely different real-world tradition.
