In House M.D., what nickname is given to Amber Volakis by House?

House calls Amber Volakis “Cutthroat Bitch” in House M.D.

The nickname reflects Amber’s aggressive competitiveness during the selection process for House’s diagnostic team. She is willing to challenge colleagues and pursue advantages, leading House to label her with a deliberately harsh phrase rather than use her name. The nickname becomes one of the character’s most recognizable identifiers.

Amber, played by Anne Dudek, first appears as one of the applicants competing for a place on House’s team. She later becomes closely connected to James Wilson and develops an important relationship with House’s personal circle. Her storyline eventually leads to the two-part season-four finale “House’s Head” and “Wilson’s Heart.”

“Cutthroat Bitch” is not Amber’s professional title or legal name; it is House’s insulting nickname. Another well-known team nickname, “Thirteen,” belongs to Remy Hadley, while “Big Love” refers to Lawrence Kutner. Those distinctions make the answer specific rather than interchangeable.
