Jesse Spencer plays Dr. Robert Chase in House M.D.
Chase is an Australian intensive-care specialist who becomes a member of House’s original diagnostic team. His background, polished manner, and occasional clashes with House distinguish him from Foreman and Cameron, the other original team members.
The character is known for riding a motorcycle and for developing from a relatively junior physician into a more experienced doctor. His professional path changes across the series, but Robert Chase remains connected to the diagnostic department and to the hospital’s wider medical hierarchy.
Jesse Spencer is an Australian actor, and the character’s nationality is part of the show’s characterization. Chase is not to be confused with Chris Taub or Lawrence Kutner, later members of House’s team. Eric Foreman belongs to the original group but is played by Omar Epps.
