Answer
Andromache
Answer
Andromache
In Greek mythology’s Trojan War, Hector’s wife was Andromache.
Andromache was the daughter of Eetion, the ruler of Thebe in Cilicia. Achilles killed Eetion and Andromache’s seven brothers before the events described in Homer’s Iliad, leaving Hector as the main protector of their household.
Her most famous appearance is in the Iliad, where she pleads with Hector not to return to battle. She fears that Troy will fall and that she and their son, Astyanax, will become enslaved. Hector answers that he feels the same fear but believes he must defend the city.
Andromache is sometimes confused with Helen, who was married to Menelaus before going to Troy, and with Briseis, Achilles’ captive. Later Greek and Roman traditions describe Andromache’s life after Troy’s fall, including her marriage to Neoptolemus and eventual life in Epirus.
