In Greek mythology, whom did Pyrrha marry after Pandora’s generation?

The story behind the answer

In Greek mythology, Pyrrha married Deucalion. Deucalion was the son of Prometheus, while Pyrrha was the daughter of Pandora and Epimetheus.

The pair are central to the Greek flood myth. Zeus sent a flood to destroy the corrupt Bronze Age of humanity, and Deucalion and Pyrrha survived by taking shelter in a chest or ark-like vessel. After the waters receded, they consulted the goddess Themis about restoring the human race.

Themis instructed them to throw the “bones of their mother” behind them. They understood this as stones from Mother Earth. Deucalion’s stones became men, and Pyrrha’s stones became women. Their son Hellen became an ancestor of the Hellenes, the ancient Greeks, in later genealogical tradition.

Deucalion is sometimes compared with flood survivors from other cultures, but the Greek myth has its own distinctive stone-repopulation episode.
