In Greek mythology, whom did Pandora marry after Zeus sent her to Prometheus’s brother?

The story behind the answer

In Greek mythology, Pandora married Epimetheus after Zeus sent her to Prometheus’s brother. Epimetheus’s name is commonly interpreted as “afterthought,” contrasting with his brother Prometheus, whose name suggests forethought.

Prometheus had warned Epimetheus not to accept gifts from Zeus, but Epimetheus accepted Pandora. Hesiod’s account connects the marriage with the opening of the container that released suffering into the human world. The story therefore links Pandora not only to the vessel but also to the consequences of Epimetheus’s decision.

Epimetheus is a Titan in Greek mythology, although he is less prominent than Prometheus. Later traditions connect Pandora and Epimetheus with Pyrrha, who survives the great flood with Deucalion in some versions of Greek myth.
