In Greek mythology, whom did Pandora marry after she was created?

The story behind the answer

In Greek mythology, Pandora married Epimetheus after she was created.

Epimetheus was a Titan associated with hindsight and was the brother of Prometheus. Zeus sent Pandora to Epimetheus as part of the punishment imposed on humanity after Prometheus stole fire from the gods. Although Prometheus had warned his brother not to accept gifts from Zeus, Epimetheus welcomed Pandora.

Their marriage is important because it places Pandora directly within the family line of the Greek flood myth. Pandora and Epimetheus became the parents of Pyrrha, who survived the flood with Deucalion. Later retellings sometimes simplify the story into a romance, but Hesiod’s accounts emphasize divine punishment, curiosity, and the consequences of accepting Zeus’s gift. Pandora is not married to Prometheus; that common mix-up comes from the brothers’ close connection in the myth.
