In Greek mythology, who was Pyrrha’s husband after the flood?

The story behind the answer

In Greek mythology, Pyrrha’s husband after the flood was Deucalion.

Deucalion is usually described as the son of the Titan Prometheus and Pandora’s brother Epimetheus. His wife was Pyrrha, who is identified in later traditions as Pandora’s daughter. Together, Deucalion and Pyrrha become the only human survivors of a catastrophic flood sent by Zeus.

The couple survives by taking refuge in a chest or ark. When the waters recede, they ask Themis how humanity can be renewed. Her cryptic instruction to throw the “bones of their mother” behind them is interpreted as an order to throw stones from Earth. Deucalion’s stones become men, and Pyrrha’s become women.

This story is distinct from the later biblical flood narrative, although both feature a chosen couple, a great deluge, and the rebuilding of human society. Deucalion’s name is therefore closely associated with the Greek flood tradition rather than with the opening of Pandora’s jar itself.
