In Greek mythology, who was Pandora’s husband after Epimetheus accepted her into his household?

The story behind the answer

In Greek mythology, Epimetheus was Pandora’s husband after he accepted her into his household.

Epimetheus was the brother of Prometheus and was known for acting after the event, a contrast reflected in his name. Prometheus warned him not to accept gifts from Zeus, but Epimetheus nevertheless welcomed Pandora. In the myth, Pandora then opened the sealed container, releasing troubles into the human world.

The family relationship is important because it separates two famous figures who are often mixed up. Prometheus is the fire-bringer and the cautious brother; Epimetheus is the recipient of Pandora and the figure whose poor judgment helps advance the story. Later retellings sometimes give Pandora a more independent role or add details not present in Hesiod. The marriage is part of the mythic narrative rather than a historical or genealogical claim about real people.
