In Greek mythology, who warned his brother Epimetheus not to accept Pandora?

The story behind the answer

In Greek mythology, Prometheus warned his brother Epimetheus not to accept Pandora.

Prometheus was the Titan associated with foresight, while his brother Epimetheus represented hindsight. After Prometheus stole fire from the gods and gave it to humanity, Zeus arranged a punishment that included sending Pandora to Epimetheus.

Prometheus understood that a gift from Zeus might conceal a danger, so he advised Epimetheus to reject anything sent from Olympus. Epimetheus ignored the warning and accepted Pandora, who carried the sealed container later associated with the world’s evils.

This family relationship is easy to confuse because Pandora’s creation involves several gods, including Hephaestus and Athena, while Hermes escorts her to humanity. Prometheus is the character who supplies the warning; Epimetheus is the one who fails to follow it.
