In Greek mythology, who delivers Pandora to Epimetheus?

The story behind the answer

In Greek mythology, Hermes delivers Pandora to Epimetheus.

After the gods create and adorn Pandora, Zeus sends Hermes to take her to Epimetheus, the Titan who is Prometheus’s brother. Epimetheus accepts her despite Prometheus’s earlier warning not to receive gifts from Zeus. The arrival sets the myth’s central chain of events in motion.

The names are easy to confuse. Prometheus is the figure associated with stealing fire for humanity, while Epimetheus is the brother who receives Pandora. Their names are traditionally explained as contrasting kinds of thought: Prometheus is linked with forethought, and Epimetheus with afterthought.

Hermes’s role is not limited to delivery. Hesiod also assigns him a contribution to Pandora’s character. His appearance in the episode connects divine communication, deception, and the transmission of Zeus’s punishment to humanity.
