In Greek mythology, which Titan warned Epimetheus not to accept Pandora?

The story behind the answer

In Greek mythology, Prometheus warned Epimetheus not to accept Pandora.

Prometheus was the Titan associated with foresight, and he understood that Zeus's gift was dangerous. He advised his brother Epimetheus to reject gifts from Zeus, but Epimetheus accepted Pandora anyway. The episode turns the brothers' contrasting names and personalities into part of the story's moral structure.

Prometheus's warning is easy to overlook because modern retellings focus on Pandora's curiosity and the opened box. In the early narrative, however, the crucial decision begins with Epimetheus's acceptance of Pandora. The warning also explains why Prometheus himself is not the person who opens the vessel.

Prometheus is separately famous for stealing fire and giving it to humans. Zeus punishes that act directly, while Pandora becomes a second punishment affecting humanity. These connected episodes form the mythic background to the jar story.
