In Greek mythology, which Titan is Pandora’s story linked to because he stole fire for humans?

The story behind the answer

In Greek mythology, Pandora’s story is linked to Prometheus because he stole fire for humans. Hesiod presents Pandora as part of Zeus’s response to that act of defiance.

Prometheus is a Titan known for helping humanity and challenging Zeus. In the relevant myth, he obtains fire and gives it to mortals, allowing them to develop skills associated with cooking, craft, and civilization. Zeus answers by arranging the creation of Pandora and sending her into the human world.

Prometheus and Pandora do not have the same role. Prometheus is the benefactor whose theft begins the chain of events, while Pandora is the divinely fashioned figure through whom the troubles are released. Later Greek and Roman writers expanded Prometheus’s story in different ways, including his punishment of being bound to a mountain. That punishment is related to his defiance but is not the same event as Pandora opening the jar.
