In Greek mythology, which messenger god escorts Pandora to humanity?

The story behind the answer

In Greek mythology, Hermes escorts Pandora to humanity after the gods prepare her.

Hermes is the Olympian messenger and the god most associated with travel, communication, boundaries, and transitions. In Hesiod’s account, Zeus directs him to give Pandora speech and a deceptive nature, then to lead her to Epimetheus. This places Hermes in the role of bringing the newly created woman from the divine sphere into the human world.

The detail is sometimes overlooked because popular versions concentrate on the opening of the jar. Yet the journey is important to the story: Pandora is not discovered independently by humans but deliberately delivered as part of Zeus’s punishment for Prometheus and humanity.

Hermes is not the craftsman who forms Pandora’s body. Hephaestus performs that creation under Zeus’s command, while other gods contribute attributes. The myth therefore distributes different stages of Pandora’s construction and arrival among several divine figures.
