In Greek mythology, which god sent Pandora to live among humans after her creation?

The story behind the answer

Zeus sent Pandora to live among humans after her creation in Greek mythology.

Hesiod places Pandora within Zeus’s punishment of humanity. Prometheus had stolen fire from the gods and given it to mortals, an act that angered Zeus. In response, Zeus arranged for Pandora to be created and sent to Epimetheus, Prometheus’s brother. Her arrival brought a beautiful but dangerous gift into the human world.

The myth does not portray Pandora as an ordinary human birth. She is made by divine craftsmanship and equipped with gifts from several gods. Zeus’s role is the organizing force behind the plan: he orders her creation, determines her destination, and uses her arrival to extend the consequences of Prometheus’s defiance.

Some later retellings emphasize Pandora’s curiosity more than Zeus’s punishment. Hesiod’s account, however, is strongly concerned with divine power, human suffering, and the consequences of Prometheus’s theft. Pandora’s story is therefore closely tied to the wider Prometheus myth.
