In Greek mythology, which god is said to have shaped Pandora’s human form?

The story behind the answer

In Greek mythology, Hephaestus is said to have shaped Pandora’s human form.

Hesiod describes Zeus ordering Hephaestus, the divine smith and craftsman, to fashion Pandora’s likeness from earth. This assignment fits Hephaestus’s broader mythological role as maker of weapons, armor, objects, and extraordinary artifacts for the gods.

Pandora is not presented as the product of Hephaestus alone. Other gods contribute gifts and qualities, which explains her name and the collaborative structure of the creation scene. Hephaestus makes the physical form; the wider divine assembly helps complete the figure.

Hermes is sometimes associated with Pandora’s persuasive or deceptive qualities, but he is not the god who shapes her body. Poseidon rules the sea, and Dionysus is associated with wine and ecstatic worship. Their roles belong to other mythic domains.
