In Greek mythology, which god fashioned Pandora's body for Zeus?

The story behind the answer

In Greek mythology, Hephaestus fashioned Pandora's body for Zeus.

Hesiod's Works and Days says Zeus ordered Hephaestus to shape a woman from earth and water. Hephaestus was the Olympian god associated with metalworking, fire, craftsmanship, and invention, making him the natural divine artisan for this task.

Pandora's creation involved several gods rather than a single maker. Athena clothed her and taught her crafts, while Aphrodite gave her beauty. Hermes supplied a deceptive mind and a character suited to Zeus's plan. These details explain why the myth presents Pandora as a divinely assembled figure.

Later retellings often compress the story and credit Zeus alone with creating Pandora. In Hesiod's account, however, Zeus initiates the plan but Hephaestus performs the physical fashioning.
