In Greek mythology, Pandora was sent to the home of which man, the brother of Prometheus?

The story behind the answer

Pandora was sent to Epimetheus, the brother of Prometheus, in Greek mythology.

Epimetheus’s name is commonly associated with hindsight, while Prometheus’s name is associated with forethought. That contrast supports their different roles: Prometheus anticipates danger, whereas Epimetheus accepts Zeus’s gift despite his brother’s warning.

Prometheus advised Epimetheus not to accept presents from Zeus. Epimetheus nevertheless received Pandora, who had been created and equipped by the gods. In the ensuing story, the opening of the jar releases destructive forces into the human world.

Epimetheus is less famous than Prometheus, but identifying him prevents a common mix-up with other mythological figures. He is a Titan in Greek mythology and is also associated with Pyrrha, whom he fathered with Pandora in later traditions.
