In God of War Ragnarök, the giant eagle Hræsvelgr is found in Helheim.
Hræsvelgr is a giant being associated with the realm of the dead. The creature sits at the edge of Helheim and creates powerful winds by beating its wings. This depiction draws on Norse mythology, where Hræsvelgr is described as a giant in eagle form whose movements generate wind.
In the game, Hræsvelgr is not a conventional boss. Instead, it is a striking environmental figure tied to Helheim's atmosphere and the realm's supernatural order. The eagle's presence helps make the frozen realm feel inhabited and mythologically distinct.
Niflheim is another cold realm, but it is associated with mist and the Niflheim maze. Muspelheim is the fiery realm, while Vanaheim is the home of the Vanir gods. None of those realms contains Hræsvelgr.
