In God of War II, Gaia helps Kratos travel back through time.
Gaia is the primordial Earth figure and the leader of the Titans who oppose Zeus. After Zeus betrays Kratos and strips him of his powers, Gaia guides him toward the Sisters of Fate, whose power can alter the past.
Kratos uses the Loom of Fate to return to the moment of Zeus's betrayal. He then changes the outcome and brings the Titans forward to attack Mount Olympus, setting up the events of God of War III.
Gaia is sometimes confused with other Titans in the series, especially Cronos and Atlas. Cronos is associated with Pandora's Temple, while Atlas supports the world and appears in God of War II as a major Titan character.
