In God of War (2018), the witch who lives in the Witch's Cave is Freya.
Freya initially introduces herself to Kratos and Atreus as the Witch of the Woods. She provides aid, knowledge, and healing during their journey, while her home is located near the Lake of Nine in Midgard. Her identity and history become increasingly important as the story develops.
Freya is the former wife of Odin and the mother of Baldur. The game gradually reveals that she is also connected to the Vanir gods and once possessed considerable magical and political power. These revelations help explain both her abilities and the hostility between her and Odin.
Freya is not the same character as Angrboda, who appears in Ironwood in God of War Ragnarök. Sigrún is a Valkyrie, while Hel is the ruler associated with the realm of the dead.
