In Frozen II, what does Elsa discover she is?
Answer
The fifth spirit
Answer
The fifth spirit
In Frozen II, Elsa discovers that she is the fifth spirit.
The revelation comes during Elsa’s journey to Ahtohallan, a mythical river said to preserve memories and explain the past. She has been following a mysterious voice while trying to understand the origin of her powers and the disturbance threatening Arendelle.
The Enchanted Forest is associated with four elemental spirits: air, fire, water, and earth. The Northuldra explain that a fifth spirit connects people with the magic of nature. Elsa eventually learns that she herself is that spirit. Her powers were granted by nature because her mother, Iduna, saved the life of Agnarr, who was then a young Arendellian prince.
The film describes Elsa and Anna as a bridge between two worlds: Elsa stands on the side of the magical spirits, while Anna represents humanity. This is why “the fifth spirit” is more precise than options such as the water spirit or fire spirit. Elsa is not the water spirit Nøkk or the fire spirit Bruni; she can interact with them, but they are separate beings. Frozen II was released in 2019.
