Ashava the Pestilent is a massive demonic creature that appears as a world boss encounter. The Fractured Peaks is the mountainous region where players first experience much of Diablo IV’s early story and exploration, and Ashava became especially well known through the game’s beta testing.
World bosses are large multiplayer encounters designed for groups of players. They appear at scheduled times and require coordinated attacks, movement, and survival against powerful area effects.
Avarice and Wandering Death are also Diablo IV world bosses, but they are separate enemies with their own designs and locations. The Butcher is a recurring powerful monster that can appear unexpectedly in dungeons; he is not classified as one of the game’s scheduled world bosses.
