Alcarnus is the Diablo IV stronghold overlooking Scouring Sands.
Alcarnus is located in Kehjistan, the region whose coastal and desert landscapes form a major part of Diablo IV’s world. The stronghold is associated with a demon-infested settlement and the witch-cult activity surrounding Rashta, creating a distinct local story for players who reclaim the area.
Strongholds are hostile locations that players can liberate. Clearing one can turn it into a friendly settlement or unlock useful services and activities, depending on the stronghold. They are separate from ordinary dungeons and are designed as larger overworld objectives.
Qara-Yisu is another stronghold, but it is found in the Dry Steppes. Nostrava is in Fractured Peaks, and Kor Dragan is also in Fractured Peaks. Their similar names and stronghold status can make regional identification difficult.
