In Diablo Immortal, on what date was the game released for mobile devices?

The story behind the answer

Diablo Immortal was released for mobile devices on June 2, 2022.

Blizzard Entertainment and NetEase developed Diablo Immortal as a free-to-play action role-playing game for iOS and Android devices. Its release brought the Diablo formula to mobile, with touchscreen controls, online character progression, multiplayer activities, and a story set between Diablo II and Diablo III.

The game was announced at BlizzCon 2018 and attracted substantial attention because it was presented as a mobile-first Diablo experience. The global mobile launch took place on June 2, 2022, while a PC open beta also became available that day. Regional release timing varied slightly in some markets because of distribution schedules.

Diablo Immortal is sometimes confused with Diablo IV, which launched in 2023 for computers and consoles. It is also distinct from Diablo II: Resurrected, a remastered version of the 2000 classic released in 2021.
