In Diablo II, the Druid is the class that can transform into werewolf or werebear forms.
The Druid was introduced in Lord of Destruction, Diablo II’s 2001 expansion. Its skill trees combine elemental magic, summoning, and shape-shifting. The Werewolf skill changes the Druid into a fast melee fighter, while Werebear creates a tougher form with different combat strengths.
This design makes the Druid distinct from Diablo II’s other classes. It can call animals and spirits, cast elemental attacks such as Tornado, or focus heavily on shape-shifting. The player chooses a build by investing skill points as the character levels.
The Druid is sometimes confused with the Barbarian because both can be built for close combat. However, only the Druid has the signature werewolf and werebear transformations in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction.
