In Diablo II, Act III takes place in the jungle around Kurast.
Act III follows the player’s journey through the tropical jungles of eastern Kehjistan toward the city of Kurast. The act’s environments include dense jungle paths, ruined temples, and waterways filled with monsters and hidden dungeons.
Its primary narrative goal is to reach Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred, who is imprisoned beneath the Temple City of Travincal. The player must collect the pieces of Khalim’s Will, a quest item needed to open the way forward.
Act III is sometimes associated only with Travincal or the Durance of Hate, but those locations are parts of the larger Kurast chapter. Act II instead centers on the desert city of Lut Gholein, while Act IV moves to the infernal River of Flame and the Pandemonium Fortress.
