In C.S. Lewis’s Narnia novels, what is the name of the country ruled by King Caspian?

The story behind the answer

Narnia is the country ruled by King Caspian in C.S. Lewis’s Narnia novels.

Caspian first appears as Prince Caspian in the 1951 book of that name. He leads a rebellion against the Telmarine rulers who have taken control of Narnia and eventually becomes its king. His reign continues across later books, including *The Voyage of the Dawn Treader* and *The Silver Chair*.

Narnia is both a kingdom and the name commonly used for the wider fictional world’s central land. It was created by Aslan, the great lion, and contains talking animals, dwarfs, fauns, and other peoples. The Pevensie siblings become kings and queens there in an earlier story.

Archenland lies south of Narnia, while Calormen is a powerful empire farther south. Telmar is the homeland of the dynasty that invades Narnia, not Caspian’s kingdom itself.
