In Brandon Sanderson’s fantasy novel The Way of Kings, what is the name of the order of knights associated with Kaladin?

The story behind the answer

In Brandon Sanderson’s fantasy novel The Way of Kings, Kaladin is associated with the Windrunners.

The Windrunners are one of the ten orders of Knights Radiant. Their powers are linked to the Surges of Adhesion and Gravitation, allowing members to bind objects, alter physical direction, and fly through the air. Their traditional ideals emphasize protecting others.

Kaladin begins the novel as a surgeon’s son who becomes a soldier and later a bridgeman. His bond with the honorspren Syl enables him to recover the abilities of a Windrunner. As he speaks the order’s Ideals, his powers and responsibilities develop together.

The Windrunners are not the only Knights Radiant order in the series. The Skybreakers, Lightweavers, and Elsecallers have different Surges, spren bonds, and Ideals. The Way of Kings is the first novel in Sanderson’s planned Stormlight Archive series.
