In 'Batman Returns', which actor plays the Penguin?

In “Batman Returns,” Danny DeVito plays the Penguin, whose civilian identity is Oswald Cobblepot.

The character is reimagined as a malformed, feral crime boss who was abandoned by his wealthy parents as a baby and raised in the sewers by penguins. In the film, Oswald seeks entry into Gotham City’s high society and eventually launches a bid for political power, using businessman Max Shreck to help advance his plans.

“Batman Returns” was released in 1992 as Tim Burton’s follow-up to “Batman” (1989). Michael Keaton returned as Bruce Wayne/Batman, while Michelle Pfeiffer played Catwoman and Christopher Walken played Max Shreck. DeVito’s performance helped make the Penguin one of the film’s defining figures.
