In a traditional quinceañera, the honoree often wears a formal dress.
The dress is one of the celebration’s most visible features and commonly resembles an evening gown or ball gown. Families choose its color, design, length, and decoration according to personal taste, local custom, religion, and budget.
There is no single required color. Pink and other pastel shades are widely associated with popular imagery, but quinceañeras may wear white, blue, red, purple, metallic colors, or contemporary designs. The outfit may be coordinated with the attendants and reception decorations.
The dress should not be confused with a wedding gown. Although both can be formal, the quinceañera dress belongs to a birthday and coming-of-age celebration, not a marriage ceremony.
