Answer
330 metres
Answer
330 metres
The Eiffel Tower in Paris is 330 metres tall, including its highest antenna.
Gustave Eiffel’s company built the tower for the 1889 Exposition Universelle, a world’s fair celebrating the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. Construction used more than 18,000 individual iron parts joined by about 2.5 million rivets.
The tower’s height has changed slightly over time as radio and television antennas were added. Its original height was about 300 metres, while the modern figure of 330 metres includes the current antenna. This is why older references may give a different number.
The structure was initially intended to be temporary and was scheduled for removal after about 20 years. Its usefulness as a radio-communication mast helped save it, and it became one of the world’s most recognizable landmarks.
