Surfer Stephanie Gilmore won seven women’s world titles.
The Australian captured her championships in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2018. Her first title came in her rookie season, an exceptionally rare achievement in top-level professional surfing.
Gilmore is recognized for smooth rail work, precise timing, and an efficient style that often makes difficult turns look effortless. She became one of the central figures in women’s surfing during the late 2000s and 2010s.
Her seven titles place her among the most successful women in professional surfing, but they are not the record. Layne Beachley won seven consecutive titles from 1998 through 2003 plus another in 2006, while Carissa Moore became the first woman to reach five world titles in the modern era before adding more.
