Metallica's The Black Album contains 12 tracks.
The standard album opens with “Enter Sandman” and closes with “The Struggle Within.” Between them are songs including “Sad but True,” “The Unforgiven,” “Wherever I May Roam,” and “Nothing Else Matters.”
The original vinyl configuration divided the songs across four sides, with three tracks on each side. That arrangement can make the album seem more segmented than its compact 12-song track list suggests.
Later anniversary box sets added demos, live performances, covers, and other archival material. Those expanded editions contain far more than 12 recordings, but the original studio album itself has 12 tracks.
